Other Notes: At the beginning of his stay in Rouen, Pissarro visited Claude's brother Le'on Monet at his house in Maromme, near Rouen. Attracted to two paintings the painter had just completed, he bought them on the spot. On 18th October, 1883, Claude Monet wrote to his dealer Paul Duraud-Ruel: "May also be needed in Rouen on Sunday. My brother, who I have been promising to visit for so long, has seen Pissarro and is expecting me any day. Perhaps we will meet at Pissarro's house then." (D. Wildenstein.
